Adjust so that when the recording level is at its
highest, it reaches to a level between -6 to -2
decibels in the front display.
Adjust to between this level.
3 Press the YES button.
If you will not adjust the recording level, press
the EDIT/NO button again.
4 Using the AMCS dial, adjust the
recording level as desired.
The recording level can be adjusted between -
and +12 decibels.

digital recording
You may need to adjust the recording level when
recording low digital signal sources such as satellite
broadcasts and the like.
1 Verify that "Monitor" is displayed in
the front display.
If Monitor is not displayed, press the INPUT
button to display it.
2 Press the EDIT/NO button.
Adjusting the recording level for
analog recording
1 Verify that "Monitor" is displayed in
the front display.
If Monitor is not displayed, press the INPUT
button to display it.
2 Press the EDIT/NO button.
5 After adjusting the recording level,
press the YES button.
The new recording level is set.
Adjust so that when the recording level is at its
highest, it does not reach "OVER" in the front
display. If OVER is reached, the sound becomes
distorted.
3 Press the YES button.
If you will not adjust the recording level, press
the EDIT/NO button again.
4 Using the AMCS dial, adjust the
recording level as desired.
The recording level can be adjusted between -
and +18 decibels.

Even if you change the recording level, the monitor
sound level from the DIGITAL OUT terminal will not
change.
5 After adjusting the recording level,
press the YES button.
The new recording level is set.
