These settings apply to only speaker set A.
Note:
This procedure can also be performed on the AV
receiver by using its [SETUP], [ENTER], and arrow
buttons.
Surround Back SP Spacing Setting
This setting is only available if the Surr Back Ch setting
in the “Speaker Configuration” on page 81 is set to 2ch.
With this setting, you can specify the distance between
your surround back speakers.
<1 ft (<0.3 m):
Select this if the speakers are between 0 and
1 foot (0–30 cm) apart.
1–4 ft (0.3–1.2 m):
Select this if the speakers are between 1 and
4 feet (0.3–1.2 m) apart.
>4 ft (>1.2 m) (Default):
Select this if the speakers are more than 4 feet
(1.2 m) apart.
BGC (Boundary Gain Compensation)
Setting
A room’s boundaries (i.e., walls) and their construction
may make bass sounds louder when the listening posi-
tion or subwoofer is positioned close to such a boundary.
This is called the boundary gain effect. With this setting,
you can compensate for this and achieve a more accurate
and flatter bass response.
On:
Boundary Gain Compensation on.
Off:
Boundary Gain Compensation off (default).
Loudness Plus
THX Loudness Plus uses THX Multi-channel Spectral
Balancing and THX Dynamic Ambience Preservation
technologies to preserve the ambient sound and rich
detail of surround sound in movies, video games, and
music when listening at lower volume levels, providing
an accurate listening experience at any volume.
On:
Loudness Plus on.
Off:
Loudness Plus off.
THX Audio Setup

Press the [RECEIVER] REMOTE
MODE button, followed by the
[SETUP] button.
The main menu appears onscreen.
If the main menu doesn’t appear, make
sure the appropriate external input is
selected on your TV.

Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ]
buttons to select “2. Speaker
Setup, and then press [ENTER].

Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ]
buttons to select “5. THX Audio
Setup, and then press [ENTER].

Use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ]
buttons to change the setting.
Press the Down [ ] button to
select the next setting.
Repeat this step for the other settings.
The THX Audio settings are explained
below.
These settings are not set automatically by the Auto-
matic Speaker Setup function (see page 42).

Press the [SETUP] button.
The setup menu closes.
